While I was working the other day, I sensed that my daughter Erin had been doing something behind my back. Without looking yet, I knew she was up to something again. She’s becoming more and more makulit these days and so talkative. She will usually pop unlikely questions like “will her name be changed when she’s already a grown up”, I said no, she will still be called Heleina or Erin but mom and dad will still call her Erin Girl. Another question from her was “Who was your mom when you were a kid like me?”, I answered, “Mommy Lola is my mom”.. she kept quiet then asked again, “How about Tito Richie, Tito Sherwin, Tito Raymond and Tito Jay who were their mom?” (she really did mentioned all her uncle’s names) I’m nearly loosing my patience this time because she was supposed to be taking her nap by that moment..I said, “Mommy Lola is our mom”, We are all her children..” then she exclaimed “Ay ang dami pala anak ni Mommy Lola!” waa! super daldal!
Anyway, guess what she was really doing behind my back..
I didn’t knew she reached a marking pen that was placed at the the top of our cabinet and got an old box of tumbler. I thought she was playing again with the mineral water placed near the sink. I asked what she was doing with a harsh tone, then I stood up from my seat and here’s what she showed to me..
She was just copying the word from the mineral water container all along. See? FOR DELIV..
My heart melt as I saw her writings, said sorry for scolding her. I stopped what I am doing and let her sit on my chair instead. I let her finish what she was writing by dictating the remaining words.
Don’t worry that children never listen to you; worry that they are always watching you. ~Robert Fulghum
