Hubby’s boss just got home from their short vacation in Thailand. As usual, he could not just let that opportunity to pass not to tag along as they went shopping at Duty Free. He asked me to check Duty Free’s website as they are not sure how many days/hours is allowed to shop at Duty Free upon arrival. His boss came home from Thailand last Sunday and it was Monday when he asked me that favor. I did not looked for Duty Free’s official website instead I looked for their Official Facebook Account as it will likely be the most updated. And voila! The answer was right on their header!
Long before Social Media becomes a part of everyone’s day to day agenda, I used to think that taking pictures at public places like malls, restaurants, school and yes even in some PUV’s (train, taxi) is awkward and “corny”.
But as I said, that was before.
Today, pictures taken from anywhere—at anytime are religiously posted in Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other Social Media Network just to stay updated and connected to friends and relatives.
This month we had been to our favorite (only because it’s the nearest mall to our place) SM City in Taytay several times and to my kids’ joy, we enjoyed several photo opportunities in there. Just like the photos below, where hubby and the kids enjoyed their “Around the World” shots. A little tweak on these photos and it almost seemed real. I posted some on hubby’s Facebook account and some of his friends thought he really went abroad lol!
Another week passed and we were glad to see that they changed their theme and made it in line with the Christmas Season. I so, so love these pictures of hubby and the kids. My youngest daughter does not want to get near Santa Claus only because of a silly, scary story told by her aunt (it was another story to tell).
Do you take photos of you or your kids inside malls, restos and other public places?
Do you sometimes feel awkward or silly to pose for the camera while other people are looking at you or at your kids?
We are surrounded by lots of negative people nowadays and so to beat up those negative vibes, hubby and I decided to just feel the air of Christmas as soon as BER months came in. Last year, I was too lazy to decorate and so Christmas started and ended without even a Christmas tree.
We went to SM Department Store last week to buy our kids new set of swimwear. Hubby promised that he will treat us for an overnight stay at Club Manila East since the kids got good grades for their first grading period. It’s no longer summer and so we were happy to bagged swimsuits on sale. After that, we noticed that they already have Christmas decors for sale and so we decided to take a look at their displays. The kids liked this Santa Claus and so we bought it.
Hello there Santa!
I am not so good at blending decors and so we asked these ladies to assist us and they gladly abide. They even offered us their service to decorate the garland we bought for our front door. We told them our budget and they picked the decorations then attached them into the garland.
Thank you ladies:)
As we wait, the kids ran around and so we decided to leave them and have our lunch first. As per my son’s request, we ate at Inasal Chicken Bacolod and they finished off their meals in no time. When we got back, they were done with the garland and we then paid for it.

As of this writing the garland is still inside its box because hubby has no time yet to put it into our front door, perhaps on weekend (fingers crossed). Oh, and hubby also bought new set of drinking glasses (it’s one of his fetish actually) and was so excited to use them when we arrived home.
So eager to use our new set of drinking glasses
Instead of spending time on people who would just make us feel bad, we spend it with each other.. Just me, hubby and our three kids.
The recent long weekend for me and my family was just spent at home. My hubby’s siblings invited us to go to Cavite to spend the weekend with them but unfortunately, hubby declined because the kids will just get tired of the long travel from Cainta to Cavite. But come Monday and our three children asked us if we are not going out. They watched all the new movie in DVD their dad bought last week and they seemed bored so we decided to have our lunch outside after all last Monday was also Chinese New Year.
And what could be the most convenient place for us to have lunch but at SM (as usual). It was still early to have lunch so we walked around first. Hubby saw this red sofa with ang-pao tree behind and we had our pictures taken.
Chinese New Year
We already ate at almost all of the food outlet in SM Taytay and so we had lunch for the nth time at Savory. Our lunch was actually a treat from me because I got a sideline and got few bucks from it. It was a nice feeling for me because at least I got to treat my family once in a while and I’m sure hubby enjoyed his meal so much this time because he didn’t paid for it. lol!
