I don’t know if I’ve been a real slacker this month or I was just not that tough enough to brave those tiring days that passed.
My two kids had their periodical exams this month one week after the other. It was favorable on my part because at least I gave each one of them the needed time and attention for their reviews. My only dilemma was the little one— she joined in all our review sessions and she distracted her siblings! She wanted the same books her brother was reading or the crayons her sister was using. Those days were stressful and I ended up too lazy to stay up at night to finish my online tasks or even to blog. On the brighter side, my daughter did well on her exams and she garnered a whooping average score of 94.8%. Her brother’s test result is yet to be released as it is already their semestral break.
At first I was relieved that sembreak had already started. First thing that came into my mind was that I will not be obliged to wake up so early to prepare my kids for school. But when I have all my kids at home—playing, horsing around that often leads to simultaneous crying, I silently wish that sembreak is over! Anyhow, hubby understands my dilemma and he was considerate enough to go home much early these days and sometimes, if he thinks his transactions can be closed or dealt with via phone, he would stay at home.
Halloween Costume Party
It was just my daughter who had a Halloween Party at school. She was supposed to go as a witch but we couldn’t find a witch’s hat fit for her head instead we found a pumpkin headband. Then I dressed her with an all black ballet outfit. It was an improvised costume at first but after I saw her all dressed up and all, I remembered it was inspired from the “Black Swan”. She looked great that day and she had fun especially with the Jollibee books she won during the games.
Mommy Group and an Event Invites Plus an Award
I was elated when Mommy Nova of The Family Woman
invited me to join Active Mommy Bloggers
. It was a pleasure to be with the group as I love meeting new friends especially fellow moms online. I was yet to explore the site but I’m sure it would be exciting to interact with these great mommies. I also got an e-mail inviting me to a Baby Carnival: A Pre-Christmas Bazaar
by Online Mommy Sellers to be held at the Parkside of Filipinas Heritage Library on Friday, November 9, 2012 from 4pm to 10pm. Entrance fee is to be charged to finance a toy / book drive and collect gifts for White Cross Orphanage in San Juan and for the National Children’s Hospital in Quezon.
Booths are offered exclusively to online mommies and daddies selling brand new and pre-loved baby items at low prices. It aims to be a venue for crafters and work-at-home parents to network, meet other sellers and offer their products with the lowest-cost rent for higher returns.
There are over 25 concessionaires joining the event with items ranging from pre-loved clothes and toys to brand new items like breastfeeding covers, cloth and disposable diapers, books, feeding bottles, hair accessories and more. Service providers such as photo studio for babies and event styling providers will be exhibiting. There will also be food concessionaires where snacks, meals and drinks can be bought. The event will also feature activity booths such as face painting, balloon darts, costume fitting and photo booth and free cotton candy for kids.
The best thing about this event is that I could come for FREE in exchange for posting about this event. However, as much I love to come, the venue is a bit far away from my place but I’m still blogging about it:)
Oh, and since I was too lazy to blog these days, I almost forgot about Coffee with Kim
’s award for me. Yep, Kim passed a Liebster Award
for me but I haven’t done my part yet so I’m going to blog about it this November.
Early Christmas Decorations
And we finally completed our Christmas decorations! We’ve put on some decors as early as September but we completed the lights just this month. Everyday our kids would ask how many days there are before Christmas:)
And that’s how my October went. I’m looking forward for November as it will be my son’s 7th birthday on the 3rd. Plans were already made and he and his siblings can’t wait for that day (or days?)
I’m sure most of you mommies, daddies and kids will be ending October with Halloween Parties so enjoy and have fun! My little one will not be going to any Halloween Party but she tried on her sissy’s costume and look how cute she is:
