It’s been raining hard for days and, I swear, to deal with this “bed weather” is indeed a struggle. For me not to adhere with my bed’s calling, I keep myself awake by looking back at our family travel photos in between my writing and social media managements jobs.
I thank my husband for bringing me and the kids to these places because I have memories to look back just like now. I suddenly realized that he is right after all. That money spent on travels cannot replace the experiences our family had.
This was taken when I was still pregnant with our youngest daughter. It was in Subic and I was not really into the idea of going on a long travel with the kids.
Instead of having a birthday party for our youngest daughter’s 1st birthday, we flew to Hong Kong and stayed for 3 days, 2 nights in two different hotels. On our first day, we stayed in Disney Hollywood Hotel. From here, we visited, of course, Disneyland. Our second and last days were spent in Marco Polo Gateway Hotel.
In 2013, we spent our second daughter’s 6th birthday in Boracay.
It was the second time that our kids traveled in an airplane but they barely remembered their first time in 2009.
We went back to Boracay in 2014 and stayed in the same hotel at Le Soleil De Boracay.
Early in 2015, we had an impromptu trip to Baguio City. It was in time for Panagbengga Festival and booking a hotel to stay was difficult. We had to contact my husband’s past client and asked for help on where we can stay. We were to able to stay in Park View Hotel.
This year, it’s only my husband who went on an out of town trip, in Cebu and there’s no need to look for a hotel where he can stay because he stayed with his long lost friend.
I realized now that it is harder to go on an impromptu family travel because our kids are all going to school now. We spend weekends on full rest days because they’ve got a lot on their plate every day in school: quizzes, project, and activities.
Albeit all these, I can sense a family travel anytime soon now because I just discovered Traveloka and how I wished I knew about it long before we went on these family trips. We could have saved time, effort, and money.
Discovering this site came in very timely for my birthday and our wedding anniversary. Honestly, it is not a family travel that was in my mind as I browsed the site. Their cheap hotel booking services just gave me the idea of spending a night or nights in a nearby hotel with my family. I am not in the mood for a long ride, I just want to book a hotel and relax. This is the kind of celebration I have in mind.
I showed it to my husband and, out of fun, I let him made a mock booking on the site. He openly admits that he is not an Internet-savvy person (I actually send e-mail for him) but navigating the site is indeed very easy. Booking for a hotel in Traveloka comes in three easy steps and before he knows it, he’s on checkout. He even gave me that “who’s the man look” after that. Payments can be made using credit cards or if you are not a credit card holder, payment can be made through “Dragon Pay”. Above it all, I am assured that the price I see, is the same price that I will pay– no hidden charges, that is! Whew!
Few more days and I would really have to make that mock booking into a reality. It’s either I will go for a hotel nearby or I will finally book another out of town family travel with my family before 2016 ends.
